The TELFA® name and technology is developed. CURAD® is the first plastic bandage using the TELFA® technology, a pad dressing that doesn't stick to wounds. At the time Kendall operates 18 plants in the US and employs over 7800 people.

CURAD® brand is purchased by Beiersdorf AG, the makers of the highly recognized brands NIVEA® and EUCERIN®.

CURAD® is one of the first brands to identify the demand for character bandages and licensed bandages for kids. Throughout the decade, CURAD establishes itself as a leader of kids bandages. Numerous licensed kids products launch: Casper® (1995), Star Wars® (1998), Scooby Doo® (1998), Pokemon® (1999), Looney Tunes® (2000), and Clifford® (2002). Curad makes kids forget their boo-boos and helps them smile again.
